STORY
Step by Step is a reflection of how progress really feels to me. It is slow, deliberate, and built through consistency rather than shortcuts.
The game places you at the bottom of a narrow, vertical world with only one way forward. There are no dramatic leaps or instant rewards. Every movement requires focus. Every mistake sends you back, asking you to try again with a little more understanding than before. Progress does not come from speed, but from patience and attention to detail.This mirrors my own journey. I have had to rebuild confidence through repetition, especially after losing it. Learning to trust myself again has taken time. Progress often comes quietly through finishing a task, understanding something new, or realising I have improved without noticing when it happened.
The world of Step by Step reflects that experience. The narrow paths, timed obstacles, and careful jumps all demand focus and consistency. The items you collect along the way are not rewards for perfection. They serve as reminders that effort matters, even when progress appears to be slow. The traps exist to teach awareness, not to punish.
I created this game as part of my own learning process. It has been shaped by routine, patience, and the discipline of showing up even when motivation is low. Building it has been a way of turning that experience into something meaningful.
Step by Step is not about reaching the top as quickly as possible.
It is about trusting the process, respecting the work, and understanding that real progress happens one careful step at a time.
