Over the last few years, I have created and released several PC games. Now, using the skills I acquired, I decided to make an intermediate platformer game called Sky Miner in Unity where I used C# to program it and covered the basics of game design to develop it.

Game Development is intimidating (it broke me mentally after I graduated in the Summer of 2022), for example, running into issues, and spending hours or days searching to overcome which demotivated me to pursue game development professionally.

Sky Miner is about me already in the sky as I thought I completed my whole educational journey of becoming an established indie game developer by reaching the highest grade. I did this by mining all the skills/experience I learned at University until I broke down and was told it was best not to take game development as a professional career.  It took me over a year and a half to realise that was the best decision.

I wish I had known when I started game development during my A-Levels, that the process would be less tedious...

After resetting my mental state and game development, I utilised my Unity and C# knowledge to use several advanced game design concepts to create a fun, intermediate platformer game. I became proficient in map generation, animation, saving systems, sprites, and audio management which familiarised me with indie development to build Sky Miner.

Of course, I had to practice game development strategies like scoring systems, balancing the difficulty (even though I want this to be intermediate), and bug detection.
